Busy Week

We've had a busy week. We got word Wednesday the 25th that they were planning on moving mom to a new facility and we weren't sure if we liked this news. We felt like insurance was trying to kick us out yet again. After gathering a little more information we found that the forward mommentum mom was making the therapists/doctors expected her to continue and they wanted to move her to a rehab facility that would take advantage of that mommentum for a faster recovery. By the time all the paperwork got in place that move happened Thursday, which was good so the new therapists/doctors could evaluate her before the holiday weekend and know the best things to do for mom.

In the meantime, my cousin from Nevada - going to BYU had his appendix burst Wednesday night and he went in for emergency surgery. All of his family is out of state so they were able to call dad to go check on him. So dad left mom about 9pm Wednesday night and he met Peter down at UVRMC to give him a blessing. My cousin is doing ok now, he will be in the hospital about a week. Dad got home around 2:30am. My cousins parents (my Mom's brother) came up Thursday and are staying with dad.

Julie flew up from Arizona on Thursday night and is staying with dad. We are glad she is here to help take care of mom. She has been able to spend time with mom down at the hospital and see her progress.

Since mom has been at the new facility she has a set schedule for all therapies and they keep her quite busy. She is tired and sore from working so hard. She was able to move her toes just a bit on her left side, held her left leg steady, and sat up by herself for 55seconds. We hope to see some movement with her left arm. We are so proud of her and her hard work! Yesterday we were able to give her a hair cut. We are so glad mom is so alert, awake, working hard, and doing so well.

Thank you for all your prayers, I don't think we could have made it through this week with out them. Please continue to pray that her left side movements will increase and become stronger.
