Physical Therapy

Today has been a very exciting day. When my Dad and Julie arrived at the hospital this morning mom was awake, and she lifted up her hand reaching for my dad. Once he grabbed her hand, and talked to her for a few minutes she fell peacefully back to sleep.
She also had a really big day with physical therapy. They did what they called the "dangle test." They sat her up in bed and had her do exercises. They had her try and lift her head. The physical therapist said she was trying, but most of the time they held it up for her. What we found exciting was the physical therapist had her kick her right foot several times, and do a push/pull test with her right arm and she was able to! The other thing the physical therapist did was hold out her hand and have mom reach for it then squeeze her fingers. She is continuing to make excellent progress, and I love seeing her eyes open!
Some funny news we had today started yesterday. Mom had a female nurse that told mom she was going to reposition her, and she could have Tim come help right now, or if she wanted to wait a few minutes she could have another female come help. Mom answered the nurse with a hand squeeze that she wanted to wait for the female. Guess who's moms nurse is today.....you guessed it! We got Tim! He is treating her really well, we all just thought it was funny.
The CT she had today the doctor said looked great. The drain in her head is now clamped off, and her intercranial pressure is still within range.
Tomorrow we are having a C-pap test to see if she can breath without the ventilator. Keep your fingers crossed!
