Emily came into town this weekend!

Mom and the therapist! Therapists (Tyler & BJ) are very good with her and treat her respectfully. They have a good sense of humor, and get along well with mom.

Hurray! Emily and her family came to town this weekend. Mom is so happy to see them! Matthew has grown so much since we saw him last.

Mom handling things well this week with the passing of her sweet father! She is so strong and continues to work hard. She has her therapy during the day and gets sore, but continues to push through and improve a little more each day. She is sitting up without assistance longer and longer each day. Her left arm still hasn't shown any movement, but the therapists continue to work her hand and arm, until they are very sore. When she is in Physical Therapy they tend to put her in a sling to let it rest. (We keep praying that she will get her movement back in her left arm.) The therapists have been working her left leg and it is starting to move. The therapists refer to her movement in her leg, like a trickle of water and they say they are opening the gates so the water can flow like a river. Today she stood up by herself! Keep up the hard work mom!

Mom is looking great! Her sense of humor is really showing. She asked about her grades this past semester and wondered what she got since she didn't take the final exam. Peter was looking it up on the computer and said that her grades from the 1970's were on there and she didn't do very well. Mom said well it's Brent's fault, we were dating at the time! Mom was doing speech therapy a few days ago and they were doing mind games, recognizing patterns and such - she was struggling a bit and asked dad to answer the questions instead. Now she's telling everyone that in college dad couldn't go to school one day, he was fixing something on their home, so he talked mom into going to school and taking notes for him. Well she went to class for him and they had a test that day, she winged it and got him an "A" on the test. Now she wants the favor returned!
